26 Apr Founder’s Diary: Flare’s first week in Nairobi

The startups have finally arrived in Darmstadt and Nairobi, to start their journey at the Merck Accelerator.Because experience has shown that the team behind an idea is just as important, if not more, than the idea itself,  we have introduced the startup teams here in our new video format “Founder’s diary.” The startups based in both Nairobi and Darmstadt will be sharing their experiences with us, on a regular basis, through a series of short videos.

We start the first round with Caitlin and Maria from Flare. The startup is a transportation network company, like Uber, that makes ambulances more readily accessible in Nairobi.   Given the lack of a centralized emergency number, the team has developed a technical infrastructure that organizes the transportation of emergency patients within the framework of available ambulances and hospital capacities.

Check them out and share your thoughts in the comments section below!
